Italian take on a working man's café
A friendly and welcoming family-run corner café ('caff') just a short crawl from the bars, this Soho institution feaures an extensive English/Italian menu of comfortingly inexpensive basics, from egg n' chips (US = fried eggs and french fries, best washed down with a cup of tea) to spaghetti bolognese. You get what you pay for, and then some (i.e. generous portions). Open from 4.30am, though on Saturdays they tend not to start cooking until 5am. In 2013 the exterior got a makeover.
