Busaba Eathai (Soho)

100% love it
Stylish Thai that's not too pricey
There's normally a queue outside this reliable and relatively inexpensive Thai spot — one of several stylish ventures started by restaurateur Alan Yau (Wagamama, Hakkasan, Yauatcha, Cha Cha Moon etc) — and with good reason. Great-value dishes — from green chicken curry and pad Thai to fish cakes and char-grilled swordfish — are served in an unusually warm and well-designed room of large square tables shared by diners. Go late afternoon to avoid the crowds. Locations for the other branches include Store Street (off Tottenham Court Rd), Panton Street (just west of Leicester Square), Floral Street (Covent Garden), Bird Street (near Selfridges), Old Street and Bethnal Green Rd (both Shoreditch), King's Rd (Chelsea) etc. Warning: dishes are served when they are kitchen-ready, regardless of whether everyone at your table has something in front of them. Opened 1999; Yau bowed out in 2008.

      Great food but pushy service
Well, the location, food, interior, crowd is nice, nothing to complain except the pushy service. Guess they would prefer to order while you are still waiting for your table and pay before you finished your last bite.
