Lady Olé (at Colours Hoxton)

Party venture of Spanish-born DJ Alejandro Asencio, who describes himself as "fierce and fabulous, cheap and cheerful, nice and nasty, trashy and t-total, hysterical and hallucinogenic, sassy and sexy". Asencio was the force behind the now-departed party Pelucas y Tacones, and his 2016 invention Lady Olé — "a party bridging Spanish and British queer club cultures through dance music, bizarro and kitsch aesthetics, and performance" — has been around town, including Nightclub Kolis (1 Archway Close, Archway N19 3TD) and, most recently, the now-threatened Bethnal Green Working Men's Club (2–44 Pollard Row, Bethnal Green E2 6NB). From 7 September 2024 the Lady started shacking up (monthly) with artsy club space Colours Hoxton (south-west corner of Hoxton Square).
