Split-personality dining — casual food-and-wine experience downstairs with more formal, pricey dining up on what the British call the first floor — all adhering to chef Peter Gordon's ingredient-busy fusion ethos. Australian/New Zealand wine list complements the extensive menu of celebrated dishes. Tapa refers to a Pacific islands cloth made of bark. Typical main dish: tamarind, green peppercorn and coconut laksa with squid, chicken and hijiki dumpling, green tea noodles, crispy shallots and coriander. Run by co-owners (and partners) Peter Gordon and Michael McGrath. Sadly closed July 2019.
