Ragam

(3 Ratings)
Cheap-ish and delicious southern Indian food

Just a ten-minute walk north of Soho, southwest of Fitzroy Square in the shadow of the BT Tower, Ragam has been serving fresh, seasoned, unfussy and very reasonably priced Indian food from the Kerala state since 1986. This is a small and narrow restaurant — and actually part of a group despite feeling like a local one-off establishment — so booking is recommended. Major decor upheaval in late 2015, with chilly modern lighting, white walls and black padded seating replacing the more warm, faded and local-feeling original. But the food remains a treat, though variable in quality. Located a three-minute walk from gay basement cruising ground Vault 139 [see entry]. Tube stations: Warren Street and Goodge Street.

a local favourite

Ragam is great. Fantastic food that never disappoints. We always bring out of town visitors here as it is our local favourite. Limited seating is the only downside, often a long wait or even turned away at busy times.
