A neo-Thai haven in Soho. Opened in October 2016, Kiln is the domain of designer-turned-chef Ben Chapman, also co-founder of Smoking Goat in Denmark St, who likes a live fire, a serious supply of proteins and vital Thai flavours, not to mention locally sourced ingredients. The long, narrow and cosy space is dominated by an open and fire-breathing kitchen with four cooks in action, preparing the yummy and inspired dishes and also serving them over the counter. Menu changes with the seasons and the suppliers (ie quite regularly). Seats only about 20, with comfy stools lining two long stainless steel bars. Music rounds out the warm atmosphere.
