Stylishly casual Soho outpost for chef Jason Atherton following his success with the swankier Pollen Street Social [see entry] and Little Social in nearby Mayfair. Head chef Paul Hood's food, which straddles British and modern European, is adventurous and playful but unthreatening, and delicious. Scrummy and odd starters in glass jars (to share) are the signature dish here. Decor is 'faux distressed', augmented by wood-panelled ceilings and a few (and surely coveted) red banquettes, to brasserie effect. In 2013 a two-course set lunch costs £18. Opened April 2013, two years after Pollen Street Social. Recommended. Atherton's name is also linked to the big, beautiful and glamorous Berners Tavern, which opened to instant buzz in November 2013.
