Ace Hotel London Shoreditch

100% love it
Sleeping in Shoreditch
A boutique hotel concept that balances the ultra casual with the ultra hip, taken to a lifetstyle extreme while serving the now-institutionalised, fashionably alternative area (east London's Shoreditch/Hoxton) that surrounds it. Not for all tastes, but good at what it sets out to do, which includes a café and regular live music events. Natural surfaces and materials define the atmosphere. Includes "modernist English brasserie" Hoi Polloi. Opened in October 2013, this was the first London (and European) venture for American trend-initiating Alex Calderwood, who died six weeks later, aged 47. Calderwood co-founded his empire of inspired and arty-savvy hotels in the late 1999 in his native Seattle, followed by Portland, Palm Springs, New York, Los Angeles etc.
