Serious about film culture
An east London specialist film centre that "aims to make film culture and history accessible" through its cinema, library — with 19,000 titles covering books and the visual medium including early cinema, classics, world cinema, documentaries, experimental films and video art — and the online publication of Vertigo Magazine. Established in 2005, Close-Up "has built up its activities on the basis of reinvesting all its profits into creating an extensive film resource". Library closes at 8pm. Tube stations: Aldgate East, Liverpool Street and Old Street. Overground: Shoreditch High Street.
