Soho's popular haunt for a mix of the well-scrubbed, the business-like and the category-resistant (with a commitment to textiles rather than leather). Large corner windows provide a good view of the Soho passersby, with plenty of outdoor space for sitting and standing (and waving to the drinking outsiders at gay neighbour the Duke of Wellington, within spitting distance). Opened in 1997, refurbished in late 2009 (and again in summer 2013, and again in April 2019). There's live drag cabaret every Thursday, and DJs give weekend nights that clubby touch, particularly with scene star Tasty Tim on Saturdays. Located seconds from so much that is gay in Soho, with Old Compton St just round the corner.

A few of us were having after work drinks on a Friday night, one of my friends was ordering a drink in the area where the bar staff walk through, he didn’t know, he rudely was asked to move by the old wrinkled lady, I believe she’s the boss, then when he tried to move in the crowded area to order his drink, she called the bouncers and without even talking to him or questioning anything decided to throw him out. He was not drunk or aggressive, just simply waiting at the wrong side of the bar. This turned into a major argument where the bouncers ended up beating my friend, punched him and me even though we kept telling them to leave us alone, that we were leaving, but whey would not even let us leave the bar, they just wanted to keep punching us. PLEASE BOYCOTT THIS BAR. Now that I’ve googled and started searching, it seems there is a pattern of abuse by the bouncers and the old lady who runs the bar. Also, I totally agree about the other reviews of the bullying toilet keeper who shouts at you for not washing your hands and tipping. UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR NIGHT RUINED, AVOID THIS PLACE.
Not bad at all
I always start my night at Rupert Street, as there is good wine, music and good looking guys!!!
Basic bar with locals
Mostly stand and model video bar. Closes early as do most pubs in London. Lots of locals. No dance floor but a good place to start your night out.
