Mr Ji is the domain of Taiwanese-inspired restaurateur Samuel Haim – following his pop-up hotspot in Camden Town in 2019– and collaborators Ana Gonçalves and Zijun Meng, the duo behind neo-Asian pop-up Tā Tā Eatery. Mr Ji specialises in small plates — notably daikon cake, prawn "in" toast and the signature spicy Sichuan chicken burger, all exquisite — plus cocktails and wines. It's a small menu, but rich. In May 2021 the trio set up shop in Old Compton St, during the lingering days of the pademic, and it just didn't work out. In 2023 they took over a former fish and chips shop in Camden Town, just a three-minute walk from the Tube station.
