La Pastaia Formerly: Cafe España

No ratings yet
Budget-friendly Tuscan in Old Compton St

Relatively inexpensive Italian restaurant with tasty Tuscan specialties including particuarly nice home-made pasta (some of it gluten-free) and daily specials. Opened 1 December 2016 by especially lovely Siena-born Sara Meloni, who ran popular Spanish restaurant Cafe España (in the same spot) from 2011 until its closure in 2016. Atmosphere is intimate, and decor is serviceably tasteful. Front-of-house tables offer a view of Old Compton St passersby. This could become an Old Compton St classic if they just upped the ante a smidgen. Closing hours vary according to trade, with 2am a possibility on Fridays and Saturdays. Located halfway between Comptons and the Duke of Wellington. Recommended.

Hours
Tue to Thu 5pm–10pm/11pm/midnight
Fri and Sat noon—midnight/1am/2am
Sun noon—9pm/10pm
