Yauatcha

No ratings yet
Soho-situated Asian/French dim sum and cakes palace

Yet another gold-star venture by Alan Yau (Wagamama, Hakkasan, Busaba Eathai, Cha Cha Moon), this sleek and stylish hot spot serves (to those who can get a table) inventive and modern dim sum (and "wok-friendly dishes and other ‘small eats'") in its basement space. The ground floor tea room features mesmerisingly beautiful home-made cakes, French-style macaroons and chocolates. From outside you can survey the available-for-takeaway cakes through the aquarium-like window. Has Michelin approval. Opened 2004; Yau bowed out in 2009. Three more branches of Yauatcha can be found...in India. Plus Ryiadh and one in Broadgate Circle in the City of London.
