An independent, family-run, neo-traditional fish and chips establishment started by Billy Drew in 2008. The emphasis here is on the home-made — whether the meat pies (tasty steak and ale etc), the beer batter for the fresh and sourced fish, the chips (a bit on the blond side; consider asking for well-done), the tartar sauce or the mushy pies — and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming in a long room that is knowingly tasteful but not über-stylish. Prices are on the high side of budget, but this is Soho after all (and it's cheaper than the also very good Poppies in Old Compton St). Located diagonally opposite bear den the King's Arms [see entry].
