Opened in May 2010, this terribly good restaurant/café run by two foodie brothers is situated inside the Georgian and splendid Brunswick House, home to old-and-beautiful-relics specialists LASSCO [see entry]. Two minutes from Vauxhall's mostly nocturnal gay zone and just a walk over Vauxhall Bridge from Tate Britain, you'll find yourself eating adventurous takes on British-sympathetic comfort food in one of London's more singular spaces. Chandeliers dangle above as you contemplate pork bellies, lentils, rare roast topside, roasted aubergines and much more. This singular food-and-relics experience is slightly off the map but wholly worth it. The brothers are the sons of Charlie Boxer, who runs the recommended café-shop Italo Delicatessen [see entry] in nearby beauteous Bonnington Square.
