Joe Allen

(1 Rating)
Famed London basement hideaway

A buzzy and welcoming theatreland haunt since 1977, this Covent Garden institution serves American and European fare to a media-friendly clientele. One comes here more for the atmosphere and familiarity rathern than for the food, but you won't get a bad meal here, particularly since the change of hands in late 2012. The situation changed near-dramatically in September 2017, when Joe Allen moved next door to 2 Burleigh St, with a ground-floor entrance descending to a semi-basement space.
