Gymbox Covent Garden

No ratings yet
Boutique gymnasium

This second (and very central) outlet in the Gymbox health club chain opened in October 2006, three years after the arrival of the London company's inaugural Holborn facility and nine years after the demise of the basement institution the gym replaced: the elegant and much-missed Lumiere Cinema. Gymbox is trendy and pricey — and gay-friendly, though in that department the Elephant & Castle branch trumps all other branches. It's also as central as it gets; 30 seconds from Trafalgar Square, four minutes from Soho, on the edge of Covent Garden. Tube station: Leicester Square.
