Nigel Cabourn The Army Gym (Closed Permanently)

No ratings yet
For the manly tweedy or military look
Newcastle-born Nigel Cabourn started designing in the late 1970s, inspired by classic British sport, tweed and military wear, not to mention sturdy and warm gear worn in arctic expeditions. Preferred materials include oil cloth, leather, waxed canvas, cashmere and the afore-mentioned tweed — all compatible with a certain conventional manliness, possibly involving beards. This attractive exposed-brick Covent Garden shop, opened in September 2014, is Cabourn's first in his native UK following success with five outlets in Japan. He also stocks for the larger male, so certain bear-prone gay men might very well find their sartorial fit here. There's also a small collection of women's wear. Tube stations: Leicester Square and Covent Garden.
