Waterstones (Piccadilly)

(7 Ratings)
London flagship outlet of major bookseller

A huge book store set in the pleasing art deco building previously home to clothing store Simpons of Piccadilly. Decent café food and tea available. One of more than a dozen Waterstones stores in London. Neighbourhood notables include department store Fortnum & Mason, the Wolseley restaurant and Hauser & Wirth and White Cube art galleries [see entries]

I used to love to come here for a quiet respite from the city. You could sit in the basement coffee shop and read magazines. That's gone, but the new coffee shop is just as good. The sales at Waterstone's are the best, too.
