Sitting regally among a stretch of home-goods stores in Tottenham Court Road, Heal's remains a calm and classy enterprise which historically has been a springboard for new designers. Started in 1810 but occupying its present elegant premises since 1911, Heal's is reliable not just for furniture, fitted kitchens, fabrics and bed linen, but also gift-type items.
