Intensely well-loved spot for regulars, starry types and special-occasion diners, the Caprice has a warm, insider's feel and specialises in attentive service and excellent food (vast menu catering to most budgets) including seasonal game, eggs benedict, salmon fishcakes, calves liver with bacon, crispy duck, and bacon, sage & onion mash. Great place for a swish lunch. Opened in 1947, then went big following its 1981 relaunch. Book ahead to take advantage of the set pre- and post-theatre menus.
