Noble Rot (Bloomsbury)

No ratings yet
State-of-the-art Franglais

A Bloomsbury wine and food instiutution serving reliably nicely executed French classics with a nod to Anglo tastes, whether bourgignon, goose, mousse or rice pudding, in a beautiful setting (ground floor of a 1701 townhouse). The restaurant started life as a magazine (in 2013), with co-founders and wine specialists Dan Keeling and Mark Andrew opening this first branch in 2015, in Bloomsbury's quaint, low-key consumer haven Lamb's Conduit St. The wine bar stays open nonstop from noon until 11pm. Closed Sunday. Also in gay-convenient Soho (2 Greek St, from 2020, in the premises of the former Gay Hussar: Mon to Sat noon—2:30pm, 5pm—9:30pm) and in Mayfair (5 Trebeck St, from 2023), but this is the original. Recommended.
