Looking possibly as if it's been there for decades, Hervé Durochat's intimate and decorated 25-seater arrived on the scene in the summer of 2013, instantly beefing up Bermondsey Street's posh cred while really just doing its own thing (rather than serving as accomplice in the area's gentrification). The red-checked tablecloths are the signpost of 'authenticity', as is the black-and-white tiled floor. The menu changes daily and is available to read on a blackboard, not on paper. Food is very fine and neo-classic French, while the wine list is serious. Located a one-minute walk from Jay Jopling's White Cube gallery. [see entry]. Tube stations: London Bridge and Borough.
