Yummy Turkish and Middle Eastern specialties — including desserts — cooked with care and attention to detail by Kurdish chef Niyazi Tezik and pastry-chef wife Berivan, who opened this Islington hotspot in June 2016. The extensive and appealing menu includes various kebabs, mixed grills, varied fish dishes (casseroles and grilled salmon and sea bass), meat moussaka, pasta, with exemplary starters including crispy/tasty falafel. Even the salad is particularly fresh and flavourful. Not cheap but not unreasonably pricey, especially the bargain lunch special. Located immediately around the corner from the far end of Chapel Market (ie away from Liverpool Rd), the restaurant is especially friendly, warm, homey and buzzy, and decorated with heart. 'Liman' translates as 'port' in Turkish, as in casual diners enjoying good food while ships come and go in the harbour within view. Strongly recommended. Tube station: Angel, then a ten-minute walk, including the colourful Chapel Market.
