Andrew Edmunds

No ratings yet
Candlelit supper for two or more

As romantic as Soho gets, the warm and intimate if rather pokey Andrew Edmunds has emerged as a local institution since its opening in relatively recent 1986, despite giving off the impression of a restaurant steeped in history going back to the origins of its 18th-century townhouse setting. The analog woodiness and candlelight certainly augment the olde-worlde experience, as does a menu that might veer from quail to scallops, from dressed crab to salt marsh lamb rump. And the wine list is renowned – one of the restaurant's top selling points. Friendly and knowledgeable waiters too. This is surely a one-off. And not without gay appeal. Edmunds died September 2022, aged 79.
