Savoy Grill

Classic swish
A recommended and ever-so-slightly casual enterprise within the art deco confines of one of London's great hotel institutions, the Savoy [see entry], the Grill reopened in October 2010 following the entire complex's three-year restoration and renovation, with the fruitily flamboyant Gordon Ramsay overseeing the Grill (while not the head chef). The menu juxtaposes traditional with modern for a dining experience that should be anything but dull. The curious but cash-wary might consider opting for the bargain-like three-course lunch. Not to be confused with the hotel's full-on formal restaurant which overlooks the Thames. Also known as the Grill Room.
