A splashy-colourful 190-room hotel – the first London outlet of the Madrid-based NH Hotel Group (at home in 28 countries as of 2022). True to the chain's ethos of tailoring hotels to their host city, and in an 'out there' sort of way, its busy-busy novelty look "combines traditional British icons with unconventional contemporary style", and with no two rooms alike. There's a restaurant (an international "flexitarian menu") and a cardio gym, and the foyer offers candy-coloured lounge and work spaces. Opened in early 2020, just before the pandemic. Located just off the City Rd, halfway between Old Street and Angel Tube stations, and just a few minutes' walk from gay basement cruising ground Bunker [see entry]. Shoreditch, Hoxton and Clerkenwell are all within easy reach.
