The Hari Formerly: Belgraves

A visually impressive, 85-room outlet in London's cash-rich, trend-resistant and centrally located Belgravia, the Hari opened in 2012 as Belgraves – the European starter entry for the North American boutique chain Thompson Hotels. The name (and only the name) changed in 2016. You don't get less down-and-dirty than Belgravia, and the hotel is not far from where the 1971–75 British period drama UPSTAIRS, DOWNSTAIRS was meant to have been set. As for the hotel, there are few if any primary colours here, with wood, neo-antiquey lighting, soft and soothing surfaces and textures, aubergines, browns and greys giving the hotel a Scandanavian (or high-class Swiss chalet) feel. Located immediately east of Knightsbridge and a short walk from Chelsea. Local shopping landmarks include Harrods and Harvey Nichols [see entries]. Soho is a 20-minute bus ride away.
