As bargains go...
A no-frills but clean and functional-plus 2012 hotel that marked the second British outpost for the ever-expanding Malaysian-based chain. The design is basic but decent, there's no bar or restaurant and 48 of the 185 doubles have no windows, with the 26 twin rooms split evenly between the haves and have-nots. Prices are subject to demand, but in 2017 it's possible to sleep here for £59 (top price £124, ranking inarguably as one of central London's top overnight (or afternoon?) bargains. In March 2017 the company rebranded and changed the name from Tune Hotel to Point A. Tube station: King's Cross St Pancras, which is convenient for nearly everything. Other branches as of 2017: Westminster, Paddington, Shoreditch and Liverpool St, the latter of which stands immediately opposite Dennis Severs's house/museum in Folgate St [see entry in Arts] in interesting Spitalfields. Online booking only.
