Splashy 137-room hotel located on the border of the Duke of Northumberland's 200-acre Syon House estate, on the other side of the Thames from Kew Gardens [see entry]. The luxury hotel opened in March 2011 and features numerous retreat-mentality amenities, including state-of-the-art spa facilities, cocktail bars and a restaurant serving "British classics". And there's a helipad for the rotorcraft-endowed. The hotel was built on land previously occupied by the park's butterfly house, demolished in 2007. In February 2013 Hilton took over from Waldorf Astoria, with just about everything remaining the same. Tube station: Boston Manor. Overground station: Syon Lane.
