Wearinghers (at Bunker)

A monthly cross-dressing social (and play) event for both 'masculine' men who desire to wear conventionally female lingerie — and heels, nylons and lycra/spandex/zenta — and their followers. The specialist 6pm–10pm event (every second Thursday) started life as Linger, at the now-defunct leather bar Backstreet in Mile End. Following Backstreet's closure in July 2022, the club reinvented itself as Club Wearinghers and in January 2023 moved to subterranean den of filth Bunker, located a four-minute walk from Old Street Tube station (but probably a lot longer in heels). The dress code stresses no dresses, no makeup and no wigs (and no women). Yes to tights (pantyhose), stockings, suspender belt, basque, corset, bra and girdle. A 'lycra hero' look could involve "full body layers of pantyhose encasement (tights), bulging lycra leggings, female lycra swimming suits, spandex suits, superhero outfits, masked Mexican spandex wrestlers etc". Nudity is also an option. Warning: Bunker entrance involves a rather steep staircase.
