Feel It (at Omeara)

A weekly and buzzy club night co-hosted by scene mover and shaker, DJ, drag star Jodie Harsh (CV: London College of Fashion) and party promoter/collective Little Gay Brother, started in July 2021. London Bridge club venue Omeara (opened 2016) is best known as a straight-appeal music venue, but every Friday the two-floor three-room space takes a turn for the queer, marked by off-the-scale dancing, drinking and posing. Men outnumber women by a seismic margin, and the crowd is dominated by conventionally attractive, mostly shirtless males, from tattooed lover boys to harness hunks and the bearded and the muscled — and not without a wild card or two. In short, a smidgen like XXL (RIP), but with less testosterone and a touch more mascara. A peak at Instagram reveals that these are punters for whom being photographed is de rigueur. If you've got it, flaunt it...and they do. Previous well-known attendants include Tom Daley, Sam Smith and Drag Race star Bimini. Club ethos: feel it (but don't touch it sans consent). Inclusive, while not without an exclusive vibe. The upstairs features escape area the Red Room, with a house thing going on. An eight-minute walk from both London Bridge and Borough Tube stations.
