Bloc South/The Bloc Formerly: Club No. 65

100% love it
Sexy-massive space that's big on gay pleasures
Just when you thought gay Vauxhall was on a corporate-development-led path to extinction, along came scene-stealer Wayne Shires with Bloc South – a dark and atmospheric, under-the-arches haven for manly cruising and dancing that could become Shires's 21st-century answer to his 1990s success story Crash, which was located next door. Shires relocated his Saturday beef-and-beard club Brüt [see entry] from the City to this location, now happening weekly on Fridays. Saturday events operate on a monthly rotation (including fetish-friendly Tribe) — plus the occasional bear social dance party Wüff — so it's best to check the website. There are two main ground-floor spaces — one for dancing and the other for drinking and socialising — plus darkrooms upstairs. Suzie Krueger's naked/briefs/jocks-embracing cruise party JOXXX started October 2017, Sundays 2pm–9pm and Wednesdays 9pm–2am, and her monthly Hard On [see entry] moved in the same month. Also in the same month, Shires stretched the opening hours and filled them with The Bloc — a Monday to Thursday/Sunday evening/night-time cruise bar. Plus occasional Scottish daddy-loving night DILF (started 2014 in Glasgow). Bloc South opened March 2017 and is located in between Union and Chariots saunta — a one- or two-minute walk from Vauxhall tube station, depending on state of mind.

      Bloke bar with great beats
Great night out with the lads on sat night. Five quid in. There's two bars with a cruise bit, and a smoking area out the back. Huge venue, and drinks prices where OK 4.50ish cans
