A very friendly and local pub on the main drag in Walthamstow, perched upstairs on the first floor occupying, since 1977, a long space that previously was part of a now-dormant cinema (and which developers hope to transform into a modern cinema/music/comedy venue). The Victoria has a worn and seasoned feel, with some nice features. During the week the clientele is decidedly straight, but weekends take a happy turn for the gay, culminating in Sunday cabaret. Features include a pool table, darts and an outdoor area for smokers. Management and staff are either gay or gay-friendly. A short walk from Walthamstow tube station. Sadly, in 2022 the pub closed for redevelopment.
