The Richmond Arms (Closed Permanently)

(3 Ratings)
Traditional gay pub in a traditional part of town
Popular, friendly, gay, local and long-running Victorian-feel pub in quaint, genteel, lovely and near-precious Richmond, where Virginia Woolf (allegedly unhappily) left London for in 1915. Distractions here include karaoke (Thursday) and DJ sets on Friday evenings. A three-minute walk from Richmond tube station and overground.

Unable to gain enterance

Have been going to the richmond arms for some time now the last time being 3 weeks ago with my partner and a very good female friends this being her first time visiting the pub we had a fantastic time so decided to visit again on the 7th June 2015 very very disappointed as we were refused enterance to the pub as we didn't have id it is quiet apparent that we are all over the age of twenty in fact myself being 49 my partner is 44 and my friend is in her early 50s i do understand that you have to have certain restrictions but as we didn't have id he flat envy refused to allow us to go in ( no where does it state on your website does it state that you require I'd to be allowed to go inside I'm very disappointed as I've been supporting this gay bar for some time as where we live in woking surrey their is no decent gay venues for us to frequent i do hope I recieve some kind of a reply to this review totally disponedid with the whole situation the reason we come to the ricmond arms is because we feel safe in the surrounding but sadly this was not the case we then decided to go back to weybridge were we gained enterance to a bar with no restrictions at all I hope to revive a reply soon yours les searle @lessearle8@gmail.com

An amazing place to visit

A very nice Gay bar on the back streets by Waitrose. Has lots going on Poker on Tuesdays, Karaoke Thursdays and a DJ on Fridays and is the latest bar open on the weekends. They are also bringing back more drag acts and have Drag Bingo on the last Sunday of every month. They have lots of great drinks deals such as 2 cocktails for £6.95, house bottle of wine for £10.50. They have also just started Super Savers which is on every day between 7pm and 9pm and ALL day Sunday, in this you can get a pint of Carling for £2.55 or a bottle of wine for £8.75 plus so much more. They have one ale on which at the moment is Reverent James which is a really nice pint and is kept well, they have a Cask Marque to prove it. The Richmond Arms is well worth a visit :)
