Egg London Formerly: Egg

Predominantly hetero destination with myriad pockets and escape areas, including an elaborate astro-turfed garden area. Caters to round-the-clock clubbers. Capacity = 1,200. Started in 2003 by Laurence Malice (as simply 'Egg'), whose Clerkenwell overnighter Trade ranked as one of London's defining clubs (gay or straight) throughout the 1990s. However, Egg LDN is a different thing altogether. Music: house, techno, drum 'n' buss, funky and dubstep. Two new outdoor spaces were added in 2022, with Malice returning to the club in February 2023 with the rebirth of Trade [see entry]. In late April 2023, in partnership with Malice's Trade, Recon co-staged 'Kinky Trade' here on the Sunday of the bank holiday weekend. Red wristbands were given to those using the darkroom, and the top floor dance floor was the more gay-specific of the two. Tube station: King's Cross, then a ten-minute walk to this reinvented Victorian warehouse. AKA Egg LDN.
