London institution for drinking and cabaret
Long-established, lively and friendly two-floor establishment in north-central London's Camden Town, with upstairs pub and garden. Ground-floor cabaret bar ranks as one of the city's major venues for drag. In September 2012 the Black Cap staged a two-day drag marathon to celebrate its 50th birthday. Upstairs pub open from noon daily. Downstairs cabaret space open Tue to Sat from 10pm, Sun from 9pm. 30 seconds' walk from Camden Town tube station, four minutes from Camden Road Overground. In February 2015 Camden Council rejected for a third time attempts by planners to convert all but the ground floor into flats. Sad and bad update: the Black Cap closed its doors on 12 April 2015. As of early 2017 there is a possibility that the venue will reopen, with the original ground-floor cabaret space sharing the venue with a theatre company. Watch this space.

      Cabaret and bar
This place is a bit out of town, but very close to Camden Town tube. It has a nice enough bar upstairs plus a roof terrace outside. Downstairs is a well known club/cabaret bar that gets busy at weekends.
