Men drink here
Nothing out of the ordinary to say about this perfectly fine Soho corner pub. At its most extreme it's borderline-leathery and casual-sordid. Can become buzzy and busy, with a crush of men often seen outside sipping pints as they clock and cruise the passers-by. Overlooks the stage door at the back of the Queen's Theatre. Somewhat complementing 'The Welly' in terms of clientele is the more frisky-sleazy but less happy-go-lucky Comptons [see entry], which can literally be crawled to in just under 30 seconds. Busy Lady Bingo on Tuesdays as of August 2017. Previously called the Rat and Parrot, the pub went gay on 11 September 2001. Closed late October for approximately six weeks of refurbishment.

      barmen are idiots
Stuff gossip, stuff ignorant... But people what visit this bar are nice.... Again barmen????? Need stop gossip, stop see people and whisper, need to work more and care less about what is going on. Im against gay working in gay places because they think be super star and treat people what is there to spend money like rubish.

      Foe bears and older guys
This classic British pub has been open for well over a decade and it’s known as a great, friendly spot to grab a drink and watch a match. This pub regularly has great sporting evenings that serve some of the locals who live and work in Soho. You can watch a variety of different matches and sporting events on the array of flatscreen televisions at this pub has to offer.

      Rude staff with attitude
Negative side: I observed a tall blonde short-hair skinny camp barman serving his customers and several times whispering right in front of the customers to another barman something and both looking at the customers and laughing. Appalling juvenile bullying behaviour! I was disgusted and shall not return. Avoid as staff are rude! Positive side: Mix bag of customers (if that is your thing) so relaxed atmosphere (except for staff attitude!)

      Dont miss it!
Gets very busy but still my fave place for a beer in Soho! Bar staff can be a bit up there own arses but the crowd are worth gritting your teeth for while trying to get served! Try upstairs...

Great place to begin your night
Mixed crowd: mostly men, but some girls around. All ages and body types, but popular among bearish guys. Great place to meet friends, have a pint and head to a club.

      Mixed venue
I'm not sure whether this place is still gay or has reverted to being a straight venue. Whatever, given its location it still seems to attract its fair share of gay blokes.
