A classical-music training ground since 1822, the Royal Academy of Music took on jazz and musical theatre in the last century, and offers a busy conceert schedule featuring chamber music, ensembles and orchestras. Former students include Harrison Birtwistle, John Barbirolli, Dennis Brain, Clifford Curzon, Moura Lympany, Gabriela Montero, Maxim Vengerov, Arthur Sullivan, Eva Turner, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Michael Nyman, Maxim Vengerov and Simon Rattle. Located on the north side of Marylebone Rd, halfway between Baker St and Regent's Park Tube stations.
