Museum of the Home (formerly Geffrye Museum) Formerly: Geffrye Museum

An East London museum in a category of its own, chronicling the changing style of the English domestic interior — with furniture, textiles, paintings and decorative arts — in a series of parlour, drawing and living rooms spanning nearly 400 years, from a 17th-century oak-panelled hall to a late-20-th-century warehouse conversion. Set inside 18th-century almshouses, the museum — which reopened in 2021 as the newly titled Museum of the Home — was previously named after Robert Geffrye, former Lord Mayor of London and Master of the Ironmongers' Company. Several gardens and a restaurant also feature. Local landmarks include trendy/arty Hoxton/Shoreditch.
