Soho Theatre

100% love it
Gay-friendly — and often gay — theatre in the heart of Soho
Founded in 1969 and settled in its present home since 2000, Soho Theatre showcases new writers and promotes challenging and independent-minded theatre [read: alternative]. There's also late-night comedy and cabaret, a talks programme and a bar and restaurant. This is the theatre that put the sadly now-defunct performance art duo Kiki & Herb on the map in London. Recent successes include a showcase of veteran English drag and acting legend Bette Bourne, known best for the gay cabaret troupe Bloolips and his various turns as Quentin Crisp, including Tim Fountain's OBIE-winning play RESIDENT ALIEN.
