TASCHEN

(11 Ratings)
London outpost of major German publisher

Cologne, Germany-based publisher Benedikt Taschen got his start in 1980 in comic books and within a few years developed a reputation as a specialist in art, architecture, design and other visual arts, including gay, lesbian and erotic works that might be deemed too adventurous by others in the business. Bookshops followed, with branches in key international cities. This London outlet, with its basement gallery of limited editions, is just off the King's Road in Chelsea and within eyeshot of the Saatchi Gallery [see entry]. Tube station: Sloane Square.

TASCHEN Bookstore

This is a beautiful bookstore just opposite the Saatchi Gallery. The books range from Art, Architecture, Fashion and Erotica. There are plenty of lesbian and gay titles with an erotica range as well. The gallery downstairs sells rare and valuable collectors editions. Staff are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable!! recommended!
