Daunt Books

(8 Ratings)
One of London's best-loved bookshops

Visually pleasing Edwardian bookshop specialising (though not exclusively) in travel literature, with not only guides but also fiction and maps pertaining to each destination. Consistently tops bookshop polls thanks to selection of books, excellent staff, decor and overall atmosphere. A proper bookshop for sure. Other branches to be found in Belsize Park and Hampstead (both north London), Holland Park, Chelsea and Cheapside [City of London]. Since May 2011 founder James Daunt has been managing director of the Waterstones chain. In 2019 he took over as CEO of US chain Barnes & Noble.
