Lovely, aesthetically pleasing establishment invented by seasoned New Zealander Anna Hansen, the Modern Pantry takes up two neighbouring Georgian houses in trendy, pretty and slightly self-conscious Clerkenwell, and serves genre-straddling food exploiting a wealth of fresh ingredients. There's a café, a restaurant and a foodie shop, and Sunday brunch is a rather coveted thing. A second branch, at 14–18 Finsbury Square, opened August 2015. Tube stations: Farringdon and Old Street.

Weekend Brunch to die for
Modern British cooking (though this place is New Zealand owned) and brilliant. Not the cheapest eatery by well placed in an attractive part of town and very pleasant rooms.
