Yalla Yalla (Soho)

(3 Ratings)
Beirut street food in Soho

Exemplary but miniature restaurant for sit-down or takeaway fresh and home-made Lebanese specialties, many of which are either charcoal-grilled, sautéd, deep-fried or pastry-based and which the owner say come "straight from the heart of our grandmothers". 'Yalla yalla' means 'hurry up' when in downtown Beirut. Located a few doors away from Italian delicatessen Lina Stores [see entry] in an alleyway just off Brewer St, which is just off Wardour St, which is just off Old Compton St. A second (and much bigger and noisier) branch opened in December 2010 at 12 Winsley St, just north of Oxford St, east of Oxford Circus.

Worth queueing for. Tasty and not too pricey.

You'll need to queue, but it's totally worth it.
