London Leathermen (formerly MSC London)

London Leathermen is the modern incarnation of MSC (Motor Sport Club) London, and is the UK’s "largest membership club for gay and bisexual men into fetish wear including leather, rubber, uniforms, skinhead, sportswear and denim", officially started on 17 October 1973 in a room above the sadly now-defunct Earls Court pub the Coleherne. During the 1980s members met at Henry's Bedford Head in Maiden Lane, Covent Garden. This is a social group fundamentally motivated by a love of leather and cruising, with the 'motor sport club' moniker originally used merely a code during more closeted and gay-risky times. Gatherings take place on the third Friday of the month (at the Eagle in Vauxhall), with extraccuricular events scheduled throughout the year. Organises the annual Mr. Leather UK contest. For the record, the MSC was one of the founding members of ECMC (European Confederation of Motorcycle Clubs) – also a member of FUKC — an "alliance of all the UK’s non-commercial clubs for gay and bisexual men into leather, motorbikes, rubber, uniforms, denim, skingear and their associated lifestyles". As of 2016 the oldest member is 92. MSC London publicly morphed into London Leathermen on Friday 20 May 2016 at the Eagle in Vauxhall.
