The Metropolitan
Sophisticated and cool 1990s hotel
A swanky, sleek, understated, contemporary and pricey enterprise run by the Como group, the Metropolitan sits in the southwest corner of Mayfair, perched with views of Hyde Park. The hotel openend in 1997, and houses approximately 150 rooms - including 18 suites - with apartments in nearby Hertford Street and Brick Street. Celebrated Japanese restaurant Nobu [see entry] opened on the first floor to mixed reviews.

Cool and stylishWe stayed at the Metropolitan over a weekend and had a really great time! The rooms are spacious and clutter free with brand new bathrooms. We loved the COMO Shambhala bathroom amenities and the urban escape. If you like cocktails, the Met Bar at the hotel is the right place to go...SoHo with its gay bars are just two tube stops away.
