Francis Lee’s captivating directorial debut GOD’S OWN COUNTRY is a contemporary tale of self-discovery and emotional-awakening set on the sheep farming hills of rural England. It features a host of standout performances from Josh O’Connor (The Durrells, Bridgend, Peaky Blinders), Alec Secareanu (The Saint), Ian Hart (The Last Kingdom, Boardwalk Empire) and Gemma Jones (Unforgotten, the Bridget Jones series).
The film, which has been described as a Yorkshire Brokeback Mountain, is releasing in UK cinemas on 1st September.
The film has received the prestigious Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature Film at this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival.
