14 February 2016. Valentine’s Day AND a Sunday. What a DRAG. The only thing for it is to haul yourself out of the flat, and come home to the family.
Huddle together in the warm embrace of The House of Strange Loops, in a public display of disaffection. In this Sunday evening open house, the family you never knew you had will fill the glorious BGWMC with a loft conversion's worth of diverting performance morsels, to help you forget the desperate desperate loneliness of your existence. Or, if you’re in a committed relationship, to help you delude yourself that monogamy is a workable life choice.
The HOSL will go all out to cook up an atmosphere conducive to enacting the compelling social rituals of drinking some alcohol, doing a bit of dancing and having a nice chat. And periodically erupting into that heady blend, we will do a bit of showing off. Some of the showing off will be live arty, some of it will be installationy, some of it will be showbizzy. We'll throw in a sing-song and a ceilidh if you behave yourselves. But don’t come expecting anything as vulgar as a “show”, whatever you do.
So this Valentine’s Day, why not keep it in the family.
