"Atomic Bomb! The Music of William Onyeabor" at MELTDOWN
Every year since 1993, a different artist has been guest director of the MELTDOWN, booking some of their favorite current musical acts to play the week-long series. This year, it's David Byrne's turn, and he picked the amazing ATOMIC BOMB! band to play Thursday night :)
The ATOMIC BOMB! band --an amazing, ever-changing and evolving, all-star lineup of artists -- will present an ecstatic celebration of William Onyeabor's pioneering electronic afro-funk as they piece together a musical puzzle that connects the cult musician with the beginnings of synth-pop, new wave and lots of other cool stuff.
